Dear friends, it is possible
to write your book in a record time i.e. 14 days or less.
The technique is a time management methodology. A
fact is unknown to many of us is that there is a book in
everyone and it needs to be brought out. All this can be
done in a proper way and with proper planning.
Day 1
First thing is
to do a preliminary research about the book.
The research involves your own
capabilities as a writer, areas of
expertise, characters you would
like to appear in your book, plot
backgrounds, settings,
and linguistic drama. You need to sit around for a few hours
and put your ideas on to a couple of loose sheets. Select an
idea (Topic) for the book. You have a very large field from
where you can choose your topic. Just look around your world
and you would find variety of them. If you have
access to the Internet, join some
discussion groups and post your idea there and you’d find
enormous replies. Check

Day 2
You’d definitely get better response from
the Forum/Discussion Groups. Choose your topic that you like
most and can write better. Develop some plots; build some
characters that would appear in the story. Then write down
each and every plot in a sequence. Once you have
completed your preliminary research, studied it and
organized it into topics, then you have a manuscript ready
with you.
Day 3
Now, you are
ready to start writing your book. Develop an outline for
each plot. Put the sub-topics into a sequential order.
Write the content, just the
first draft; write ideas as they come to you. Organize them
into the appropriate parts of the outline and elaborate upon
them.
This would keep you busy all
along the day.
Day 4, 5,6,7,8
By this time
you must have had clear idea about the whole book, so now
it’s time to name your book. Please have a glance on the
whole contents and write down an appropriate name for the
book. Decide on a name that
roughly describes what the book is all about.
Once you have
chosen a name for the book, it is now time to start
elaborating each draft of each plot in detail. Plan and
write the work in sessions. Break the topics/plots into
small chapters so that each idea can be covered in
respective chapter. Plan
your time accordingly; every hour, every day, and every
evening to work on your book. If you are persistent and keep
at your writing and your book, eventually you will finish it
by the due date.
Day 9, 10
Now, it is time to rework on
the book. Go through each chapter and try to relate the
plots into a continuous story. If you find a gap or some
left-out part, just cover it with care. This will take your
two days 9th & 10th.
Day 11, 12
You have arrived at the most
crucial part of writing a book. Yes, proofreading and
editing. This may prove to be a tough job for you because by
now, you're at the end of your book. If you feel, ask one of
your friend or colleague to give it a try and ask him/her to
be very careful as your publisher may send your manuscript
back to you and that’d be a very disappointing session for
you. Do not forget to do the spell-checking.
Day 13
The book is finally ready.
Contact your Publisher and send your copy to him. Publish it
any way you want. It’s up to you.
Day 14
Enjoy your status as an
author!
